Drone fighting is a joke. there is basically 0 skill ceiling involved in the flying, as its basically a bunch of caged turtles bumbling around in self level mode, and the meta has no room to develop if a design as game breaking as this becomes the only viable option.

I know how to beat kyles drone. Fly above him with weighted strings (has to be string) dangling from the bottom of the drone. The props will suck up the strings and cease the motors.

Something I find interesting is that if you watch battle bots and watch Tornado vs Razor, Tornado holds a similar design and was one of the very few bots to defeat Razor. Tornado had small rods to keep Razor at bay.

I know how to beat that guy, built a drone that can go 100mph and add some carbon fiber inductive shields for the propeller so that you can bash him like a bull and… add some metal mesh on the top of the inductive shields so that if he tries to hit you with the rope thingy below his drones cage, he can't hit your propeller. BUT REMEMBER THAT'S GONNA BE ALOT OF MONEY

If the cage is not called cheating, why not simply install a 2.4G jammer on your drone and use a 5.8G to controll yours. Now thats a fair fight against a caged drone.

I love the cage. Drone combat should be like battle robots in an arena! They gotta develop weapons to deal with cages and armor. Drones should have armor to protect their innards.

If youre wondering what the orange drone is made from, its polycarbonate. Its not classified, he just doesnt want competitors to know. Not hard though, i work with 3d printers / cad and plastics, so i can spot them from texture, reflection, and the level of gloss. It also has a distinct sound. The polymer he is using may have carbon fibers mixed in; thats becoming big now.

The first person to add lead weights to the outer most points of the quad and customize the flight controller program to spin the quad very fast, stay stable and maneuverable, will be unbeatable. Turned a Quad to a Flywheel. You're welcome, and good luck with the programming.

It's easy to win if you have a cage…. You can't be taken down so just wait for people to be fouled… If he wins without the cheat cage then I'll be impressed…

That kid doesn't have any skill with a cage like that. He don't even have to worry about the nets. That cage is for someone new to the hobby that's learning how to fly a quad. A proper rule should be that all blades and props have to be exposed and not behind a cage or any kind of guards.

I dont even care that this was debated 6 months ago but i thought I'd let everyone know, the definition of a drone according to the dictionary (funnay how noone thought to look there) is: an unmanned aircraft or ship that can be navigated autonomously without human controll or beyond line of sight. link:  http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/drone Says nothing about having to have a camera on it, or a transmitter. So even your little toy rc plane (if it had GPS and can fly without human input) is drone, your quadcopter (if it has GPS and can fly without human input) is a drone.

hardened steel props that are sharpened would cut the carbon fiber but you would need powerful motors and a 8 cell or more battery
